Gianna and Chasta are two real life best friends on a mission to seek out the Can Do Divas of the world. Along the way, with our Diva Daily Dose and interviews, we offer ideas, articles and thoughts that may help inspire you to become a Can Do Person! Having needed Can Do Divas in our life, women and people we find inspiring, we understand how important and helpful it is to have someone to look up to…a real role model.

This blog is a place to learn, laugh, love, share, enjoy but most of all a place to be inspired – inspired by yourself, or the “Can Do Divas” in your life. Maybe there is someone who shared their story and changed your life, or someone who you look to for inspiration, comfort and support.

A “Can Do Diva” is a mother, sister, friend, daughter, partner….

She never judges

She teaches

She helps you find your spirit

Believes in your dreams

Believes in her own dreams

She’s in me and she’s in you.

We are all Can Do Divas, doing our best to live a fulfilled and fearless life….you TOO CAN DO!

xoxo

Gianna & Chasta - The Can Do Divas

Meet Gianna Suter Franco:

Gianna Suter Franco - My name is Gianna Marie Franco, yes it’s very Italian but, I am not. I was born a “Suter” in San Diego, CA on March 9th 19….(hmmm?). I grew up in a bilingual household and speak Spanish. I married my husband on October 17th, 2008 and now have two amazing bonus kids (hate calling them step-kids it’s so Cinderalla). We live in a cozy beach house just outside San Francisco with our two dogs Oscar & Mayer. How I pay the bills…I talk for a living – and I have no complaints. I work as a Traffic/Breaking News Reporter and Producer for CBS-5 in San Francisco and as the weekend Traffic Anchor, for KCBS 740 AM/ 106.9 FM. I also work Part-time as an update Anchor on 95.7 The Game. I have also been heard around the bay on stations such as KQED, KNBR, The Bone 107.7 and Alice.

Previously I worked as the full-time Traffic Reporter for ABC-10 in San Diego. Her other credits include Access Hollywood, Reporter for FOX 10 in Phoenix, AZTV and Los Angeles Stations, KNX, KFWB, KROQ and KTWV. While in Southern California, I co-hosted a top rated Morning Show on WILD 96.1 F.M. and a national talk show featured on the CRN Network. I also parlayed my love of sports into a position as a National Sports Update Anchor for FOX Sports.

I love to travel, read, watch a great movie and cook up a wonderful feast! Sunday is for two things Church and Football…favorite childhood memory: hanging out at the Padres games with my dad and my Quincenera (i probably spelled that wrong). I love my family, my mom rocks, and I have the cutest nieces and nephews, ever!

Okay, the not so basics about me: Brunettes rock! I live, love and laugh fearlessly! I can’t live without my friends and family, my mom’s my Can Do Diva. I read, a lot, love a good book, a day at the beach, music, a sense of humor, traveling, crisp cold Washington apples, lip venom lip gloss, the smell of rain, my daddy’s voice and my mom’s smile, my best friends laugh, Eskimo kisses from my niece and nephews, front row parking, new car smell. I’ll rock the I-Pod and sing…forgetting that people can hear me, I was a show choir in High School, so I think Glee rules! I was home studied my 9th grade year and spent it traveling with my parents (cool huh?). I wish cars could fly, I am afraid of Spiders. Love the sound of a ball on a bat when it’s knocked out of the park, the cheers in the crowd, a hot shower, Go Chargers! A towel straight out of the dryer, Sundays on the couch, Chips & Salsa, playing the guitar, writing songs with my handsome hubby and…I love…love:) and I am a former Miss San Diego County/Miss Chula Vista (cheezy I know, but I was the underdog, so winning was fun!) And in my spare time…lol if I have any. I love to travel, read, watch a great movie and cook up a wonderful feast (total foodie)!

…I think that’ll do:) Keep it Positive Peeps

Peace

Meet Chasta Michaelis:

Chasta Michaelis - I’m a girl with a small town heart but a passion for the “Big City.” I was raised in the beautiful town of Sulphur, Oklahoma and now happily reside in San Francisco with my gorgeous musician husband and our precious dogs, Pacia and Axl. -I love Office Depot.

Meet Charlene Goto - Producer:

Charlene Goto - Born and raised in Northern California…I’ve been blessed with being able to call the Bay Area home my whole life. I grew up in the nutty town of Fairfield. (Only us that have lived there are allowed to make fun) If you don’t know where Fairfield is in the Bay Area, you probably really do and just didn’t know it…it’s the city you stopped at to grab a bite at In N Out when you were on your way to Tahoe.

I went through 8 years of Catholic School in Fairfield, then I refused to go to a private high school because I was tired of wearing school uniforms every day, so then I became an Armijo High Indian. Went to Napa Valley College for a few years, then off to San Francisco State to pursue the dream of working in Radio and Television…it’s kind of worked out for me so far.

Resume of Gigs I’ve had before Producing the Can Do Divas:

• Overhead Announcer and Phone Operator at your Target Fairfield
• Secretary for a Bankruptcy and Personal Injury Attorney
• Sugar Worker at C&H Sugar Factory for 5 Summers throughout College (I sewed those 50 pound bags of brown sugar you find at Costco)
• Production Assistant for the TechTV show CyberCrime
• Production Assistant for the news show TechLive on TechTV
• Board Operator for Live105
• SF Producer/Recorder of The Howard Stern Show for Live105
• Program Coordinator for Alice@97.3 and CBSRadio
• Co-Producer of The Sarah & No Name Morning Radio Show on Alice@97.3 in SF
• News & Traffic Producer for MetroNetworks …where fate crossed my paths with The Can Do Divas

A Few Cool Things I’ve Done in my 34 Years:

• Jumped out of a plane thousands of feet over Northern California and did a free fall for 60 seconds
• Completed* 6 Half Marathons (Note the word “Completed” not “Run”)
• Zip Lined through the deserts of Cabo San Lucas
• Convinced my Mom to let me sleep in the street when I was 12 years old…so I’d be first in line to purchase New Kids on the Block concert tickets.
• Day Tripped through Rome & Paris
• Survived Mardis Gras in New Orleans the year the Saints won the Superbowl
• Went to Game 1 of the 2010 World Series
• Produced an Interview with Conan O’Brien
• Was a Shot Put and Discus Thrower on the Track & Field Team all 4 years of High School
• Completed 3 road trips from California to Nashville driving my Cousin back to and from college
• Completed a Bikram Yoga Marathon…8 Classes of Hot Yoga in 1 Day
• Celebrated Carnevale in Venice, Italy
• Sang the chorus to Journey’s Lights on stage in front of 14,000 peeps at a radio concert in Golden Gate Park
• Went rafting straight into a waterfall in the Philippines
• Lastly, I somehow fooled a couple of super talented people that I’m a good Producer, and they let me play in the media sandbox with them…
